Insurance will terminate on the earliest of the following dates:
1. On the date the policy expires
2. If policyholder fails to pay required premium
3. On the date the Insured reaches 70 years of age
4. On the date student is eligible for a government medical plan
5. Date student departs from Canada upon completion of his assignment
6. 14 days after the insured person ceases studies in Canada

How do I change my address?

Please notify Axis Insurance Managers as soon as possible when there is a change of address. You may contact us by email, mail, or telephone. Make sure to indicate your full name, the school you are attending and the certificate number when making a change to your policy.

What is considered accidental dental?

When an injury to the whole or sound teeth due to force or blow external to the mouth. When injury to the teeth is a result of an accident. For example, a boy accidentally falls off his bike and breaks his two front teeth. He would be covered under the accidental dental benefit since his dental treatment is a result of an accident.

Do you have other medical insurance?

Axis Insurance Managers also sells other types of medical insurance if you find yourself ineligible for the Studentsure product. Please give us a call to obtain more information.

When can I apply for BC Medical

We suggest that students apply as soon as possible for MSP in order to ensure continued coverage. Students with Visa longer than 6 months are usually eligible for MSP after the completion of their waiting period. We encourage students to apply immediately after arrival and not at the end of the waiting period.

When should I apply for studentsure medical?

The earliest possible effective date of coverage for students who are eligible for student medical cannot exceed 30 days before the start of classes. You may also extend coverage up to 7 days after you finish your course.

Who is Eligible for Studentsure Insurance?

All students, spouses and dependent children who are ineligible under either a Canadian federal or provincial hospital and medical insurance plan or the Policyholder's other group hospital and medical insurance plans.

What is the maximum limit of reimbursement?

The total amount payable under this policy for reimbursement of all expenses, which an Insured Person has incurred as the result of all injuries caused by any one (1) accident or as the result of any one (1) sickness, will not exceed one million ($1,000,000) Canadian dollars. Trips outside of Canada, such as those to USA, is also limited to one million ($1,000,000) Canadian dollars.

What is covered in Emergency Treatment Benefit?

Injury and Sickness are extended to include expenses incurred outside of Canada. Injury or sickness expenses incurred while on a Trip outside of Canada will be reimbursed if charges are reasonable and listed in the policy. Benefits under this policy shall be limited to the amount of benefit that would have been payable had such treatment or service occurred in Canada. All expenses must be incurred on a non-elective Emergency basis outside of Canada.

"Trip" means travel, undertaken by Insured Person. Commences on the date of departure from Canada and continues until the return date to Canada. Maximum duration of 14 consecutive days.

"Emergency" means unexpected and not preplanned.

 

Is there any cancellation fee?

Yes. A $50 cancellation fee will apply if you cancel the policy.
